Energy Efficiency Initiative
Energy efficiency is a key initiative for us because of the direct correlation between energy use and greenhouse gas production. Heating, cooling, lighting and various other building operational processes consume energy produced for the most part from non-renewable sources. Electricity produced from the burning of fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal and oil produce greenhouse gases as a byproduct of their combustion, in turn contributing to global warming and climate change.
Reducing our use of non-renewable energy and creating energy efficiencies to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions is the single most important element of our program. Tactically we utilize energy audits throughout our portfolio to identify the equipment and processes that use energy in a wasteful manner.
Triovest supports changes to policies, codes and standards and the delivery of effective conservation programs in the establishment of a culture of energy conservation across Canada. We believe conservation is essential for the long-term sustainability of our Earth’s resources.
